It takes a community: How partnerships power Vita Nova’s impact

by | Dec 17, 2025

At Vita Nova, we see it every day. Real change happens when a community comes together.

Supporting mothers and babies as they move toward stability, independence and long-term success takes more than housing. It takes education, healthcare, emotional support, transportation and people willing to step in and stand alongside them.

That approach is not unique to Vita Nova. Across the nonprofit sector, research consistently shows that organizations are most effective when they work in partnership with others. Collaboration helps nonprofits expand their reach, respond more fully to complex needs and create more sustainable, long-term outcomes.

It’s a big-picture idea, but one that shows up in very real ways every day at Vita Nova.

Partnerships in action

Partnerships are not abstract ideas. They show up in practical ways that remove barriers and open doors for the mothers and babies we serve.

When a local business like Busy Bee Baking donates proceeds to support Vita Nova, it does more than raise funds. It brings the broader community into the mission, turning everyday purchases into meaningful impact and reminding mothers that their neighbors care about their journey forward.

Through Chariots4Hope, access to reliable transportation becomes possible for mothers working toward independence. A donated vehicle can mean the difference between missing opportunities and showing up for work, school, healthcare appointments or childcare. Transportation offers freedom and that freedom creates momentum.

Our partnership with Omaha Bridges Out of Poverty strengthens Vita Nova’s ability to support lasting change. Nationally, organizations focused on breaking cycles of poverty emphasize the importance of understanding systemic barriers and building practical strategies to overcome them. This collaboration helps mothers gain tools that extend far beyond their time in our program.

Working alongside the Sarpy-Cass Health Department reflects another national priority. Public health experts consistently stress that stable housing, access to care and community-based support are deeply connected. By partnering with local public health leaders, Vita Nova helps ensure that wellness and safety are part of a strong foundation for both mothers and babies.

These are just a few examples of how national best practices come to life through local partnerships. Read more about Vita Nova’s community partners.

Why collaboration matters

Across the country, nonprofits are navigating increasingly complex challenges. Mothers and babies often face overlapping barriers related to housing, health, education and economic opportunity. Research shows that coordinated, community-based approaches are far more effective than isolated efforts.

For Vita Nova, collaboration means mothers and babies are supported not only within our housing program, but throughout the broader community they’re preparing to rejoin and thrive within. These partnerships help ensure support is practical, connected and designed for long-term success.

We’re fortunate to work alongside many like-minded organizations, agencies, businesses and donors who share our commitment to dignity, hope and practical solutions.

Looking ahead together

As we reflect on the year behind us and look toward the year ahead, one thing remains clear: Vita Nova’s impact is a shared effort. Every partnership, every donation and every act of support helps create pathways forward for mothers and babies in our community.

If you’re already part of this community, thank you. Your partnership makes a difference every day.

If you’re interested in partnering with Vita Nova in the year ahead, we invite you to connect with us. Together, we can continue creating meaningful change for mothers and babies who need support and a place to call home.
