Vita Nova means new life. At our maternity home serving Omaha and the Papillion community, we provide vital support and an opportunity for a fresh start for pregnant women and mothers who need assistance in eastern Nebraska and western Iowa.
Why We Started Vita Nova Maternity Community (VNMC)
We recognized the needs of pregnant women and new mothers who are struggling during this critical time in their lives. Our goal is to end the generational cycle of homelessness, poverty, and abuse to empower women to live healthy and productive lives. Therefore, we created our maternity home in Omaha and welcome women into this environment of growth, unconditional love, and support.
VNMC provides therapeutic services, educational programming, individualized case management, life and parenting skills, financial stability education, and fellowship formation. We support addiction and recovery treatment, and mental health therapy through community social services for pregnant mothers in the Omaha area.
Housing
One of the most effective solutions for people experiencing homelessness is to simply offer a temporary place to live. At VNMC, we provide comfortable maternity homes for Omaha area mothers and expectant mothers to have privacy, safety, and an environment where they have the support they need to thrive.
Programs
Beyond the life-changing housing, VNMC cares for our residents in a variety of ways. Our food service manager provides fresh-cooked meals geared toward the nutritional needs of pregnant and post-natal mothers and their children. Our program for pregnant mothers in Omaha and single mothers includes a curriculum of courses for health and wellness programming, access to technology, assistance for higher education, and employment opportunities.
Alumni Support
When mothers complete our program they move into our VNMC alumni support services. We will continue to offer ongoing programming and educational opportunities.
