PAPILLION, Neb. — This Thanksgiving, Busy Bee Baking Company is once again turning kindness into action and sugar into support for local mothers and babies.
The family-owned bakery is hosting its 7th Annual Thanksgiving Bake Sale for Charity, this year donating 100% of proceeds to benefit Vita Nova Maternity Community. Every pie, cupcake and sweet treat purchased helps provide safe housing, meals and care for pregnant and parenting women in need.
Orders are being accepted through November 20, with pickup scheduled for November 26 at Busy Bee’s Papillion location (12011 Longshore Ave.). The 2025 lineup includes favorites like pumpkin pie, southern bourbon pecan pie, bread pudding with pecan praline sauce, carrot cake cupcakes and pumpkin whoopie pies.
Since launching the annual fundraiser, Busy Bee has raised more than $60,000 for local nonprofits, and this year’s goal is to reach $20,000 for Vita Nova.
“The Busy Bee Baking Company team has shown time and again how deeply they care about their community,” said Jenn Tompkins, executive director of Vita Nova Maternity Community. “This year their generosity helps sustain the mothers and children who call Vita Nova home and reminds us that simple acts of kindness can make an extraordinary difference.”
Busy Bee owner Jodi Jefferson said supporting Vita Nova aligns perfectly with the bakery’s mission of spreading joy through baking.
“We’re blessed to do what we love while helping others,” Jefferson said. “Every year, this bake sale reminds us that the true sweetness of the season comes from giving back. Vita Nova is a beacon of hope for so many families and it’s an honor to play a small part in their story.”
